WINDSOR, Colo. — Do they know it’s Christmas? No, they do not.
Just because the holiday is season is in full swing, it does not mean that the fields and facilities at Future Legends Complex can go without being maintained.
“Since our department runs seven days a week, we as a team work together hand in hand to make sure we are able to spend time with our families, holidays or not,” Future Legends facilities manager Tino Miranda said.
Miranda also noted that it is a priority to make sure staff get to spend time with their families, especially during the holiday season, despite the fact that there are aspects of the Complex that need to be maintained on a daily basis.
“We come together to make sure all daily and weekly tasks are met so we are able to enjoy that time with our families without having to think about work while we are off.,” he said. “With everyone’s hard work and communication, we are able to come up with schedules that allow us to take that time away from work while still maintaining our daily duties.”
Something that can complicate schedules for the facilities team is the weather, especially when it snows enough to necessitate snow removal, a situation that fortunately has not cropped up often so far this winter. However, in December in Colorado, the next snow removal is just an arctic blast or polar vortex away.
“Once snow arrives, that is when everyone on the team is understanding of knowing snow removal duties are needed and we all work together to clear sidewalks and parking lots for safe environments,” Miranda said. “I couldn’t be more thankful for the hard work the team continues to put in day in and day out after a long, busy, and stressful summer.”
