WINDSOR, Colo. — As the first Arctic cold snap of the season arrives, it is up to the facilities team at Future Legends to keep things in order as the freezing temperatures hit.
A key priority for the facilities staff is keeping themselves warm as the temperatures drop below freezing for several days straight this weekend.
“The only thing we can do for safety measures is layer up and limit the time we expose ourselves to the colder temperature,” Future Legends facilities manager Tino Miranda said.
The main concern during a deep freeze is not so much the outdoor facilities, but the indoor ones, especially where pipes are concerned.
When cold temperatures arise on the forecast, we make sure heaters are on to prevent pipes from freezing,” Miranda said.
There is also an unexpected step in the process to help with a deep freeze at a Complex with restrooms with doors that go directly outside.
“We put a small amount of antifreeze in the toilets to prevent those from freezing as well,” Miranda said.
At Future Legends, we encourage you to do as our facilities team is doing and take precautions for this cold weather, stay safe so we can see you back out at the Complex when things warm up.
