WINDSOR, Colo – Future Legends announces D.P. Dough will be the newest addition to the retail center, set to open in spring of 2024.

As a college student in 1983, Dan Haley and his mother Penny created the dough recipe for the calzone concept, selling them at a food truck at the Big E Fair in Springfield, Massachusetts. The first storefront opened in 1987 near the University of Massachusetts, owned and operated by the mother and son duo. Today, D.P. Dough is widely praised for its business model, even being named as one of the Top 200 Food Franchises in Entrepreneurs Magazine in 2018.

“D.P. Dough Fort Collins launched in 2001, and the Front Range has been craving calzones ever since”, says Mike Davie and Tony Bartolone, D.P. Dough franchise owners. “We are thrilled to bring their delicious comfort food to Future Legends in 2024. D.P. Dough is beloved by their fan base, and known for their seemingly endless options of made to order calzones, and of course the homemade and delivered hot cookies. YUM!”

Known for its late-night bites, including fresh, made to order calzones, wings, tater tots, and breadsticks, D.P. Dough is the late-night craving for college students and beyond. Since Dan’s days as a college student, the franchise has expanded to nearly 70 locations across the country, experiencing success with not only their food, but their fast delivery and customer service.

Their storefront at Future Legends will be the franchise’s first location in Windsor.

“D.P. Dough brings a unique and needed restaurant to Future Legends with its top notch calzones and wings”, says Casey Katofsky, Executive Director of Future Legends Complex. “Its fan base has been very loyal in Northern Colorado at D.P. Dough’s existing locations and we can’t wait to grow that fan base in Windsor!”

Franchise owners Mike and Tony are both actively involved in NOCO youth sports, and cannot wait to join the Future Legends team with their fresh-baked calzones.

‘Is this heaven? No, it’s D.P. Dough!’
